An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Contracts Manager to join a well-established and growing M&E contractor. This is an office-based role in Essex, supporting the delivery of complex mechanical building services projects across London and the South East, with a clear progression route towards a Director-level position.
The Role
This is a senior, pivotal position requiring strong technical mechanical knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to contribute to and manage mechanical design. You will take ownership of multiple projects from pre-construction through delivery and handover, working closely with senior leadership to ensure both technical excellence and commercial performance.
You will play a key role in shaping project strategy, supporting business growth, and mentoring project teams, while positioning yourself for future advancement into a director role.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all mechanical elements across multiple projects.
• Provide technical leadership, including involvement in mechanical design development and review.
• Manage projects from pre-construction, design coordination, procurement, and installation through to commissioning and handover.
• Maintain strong commercial control, including cost management, variations, and value engineering.
• Ensure compliance with programme, quality, and health & safety standards.
• Act as a senior point of contact for clients, consultants, and main contractors.
• Support senior management with strategic, operational, and commercial input.
