About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our established civil engineering client in Teesside. The successful candidate will play a key role in pricing and securing a wide range of Pre construction civil engineering projects, including roads, drainage, sewers, and plotworks.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor with a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming works.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Undertaking material take-offs and quantity measurements
• Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Preparing bills of quantities and schedules of rates
• Assessing project risks and value engineering opportunities
• Liaising with clients, engineers, and the commercial team
• Attending pre- and post-tender meetings as required
• Supporting handover of successful tenders to the delivery team

• Section 104 & 106 drainage and sewer installations
• Foundations and plotworks
• Infrastructure and associated civils packages

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Estimator within civil engineering
• Strong understanding of roads, drainage, sewers, and plotworks
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines

Desirable

• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline
• Knowledge of NEC and other standard forms of contract
• Experience working with developers and local authorities
