We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading groundworks and civil engineering contractor operating across Yorkshire.

Our client delivers high-quality, cost-effective solutions across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. With a strong regional reputation built on precision, reliability, and customer satisfaction, they have a solid pipeline of secured work and require an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support ongoing schemes.

The Role

• Commercial management of groundworks and civils packages
• Subcontract procurement and management
• Applications for payment and valuations
• Cost value reconciliation (CVR) and forecasting
• Variations and change management
• Supporting project delivery teams to ensure commercial control
• Assisting with final accounts

Requirements

• Proven experience as a QS within groundworks or civil engineering
• Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial developments
• Good contractual knowledge (JCT / NEC beneficial)
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Able to work independently and hit the ground running
