Working alongside Portsmouth City Council – local authority experience and knowledge would be an advantage. The role will include: Day-to-day management of Sub Contractors and Health & Safety on site Keeping management team updated on whereat against deadlines, including daily site reports Liaising with supply chain sub-contractors re work. Reviewing quality of workmanship and ensuring work meets necessary standards. Ensuring project remains on track and deadlines are met Ensuring any variations to contract are agreed and planned into the works Liaison with managers & client regarding project updates & issues Requirements: SMSTS qualification is essential and we will need to undertake a DBS check Previous foreman experience Specific technical knowledge Able to work on own initiative to deadlines IT literate – to be able to send and collate daily reports/emails etc. First Aid The work being undertaking is an external maintenance project and includes balcony enhancements/metalwork and roof cleaning (with some minimal electrical work). Assist in the safe loading and unloading of cabins / buildings and materials. Maintain good housekeeping in the yard and workshop at all times. Adhere to current health and safety legislation. Skills and Experience: Experience in plumbing, joinery and electrical work is required, this would suit a maintenance person or handyman/woman who can turn thier hand to all types of jobs.
