Architect/ Architectural Technician (Job Runner)

An established multi-disciplinary consultancy based just East of Central Newcastle, have a brand new requirement for a Job Running Architect or Architectural Technician to join their close-knit team on a permanent basis.
You will be joining a team (15 strong in total) working across a wide range of sectors ranging from small scale domestic to larger residential and commercial projects. There is a clear cut progression path, alongside excellent mentoring and support, to help you progress in the best way possible.
You should already have job running experience, preferably also being a member of the ARB/ CIAT.
Career progression is actively encouraged.
Essential Qualifications/ experience for this Job Running Architect/ Architectural Technician role:
* Degree qualified and ideally a member of the ARB/ CIAT (but a relevant architectural qualification is also fine)
* You will have excellent knowledge of UK building regulations/ producing and submitting planning applications
* Strong knowledge of AutoCad, Revit and NBS Specification writer
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* A full UK driving licence and own transport
Additional responsibilities of this Job Running Architect/ Architectural Technician role:
* Working on small to medium scale projects from start to finish
* Liaising with teams regarding additional input from third party consultants
* Developing specifications and tender documentation
* Ensuring the schemes are checked by a senior team member
* Ensuring the checklist is compiled for the tender packs
* Developing links with contractors and other consultants
* Attendance of meetings
* Completion of valuations
* Issuing inspection reports after site visits
* Experience working on site as well as working within an office environment is beneficial
* Understanding of new legislations changes and potential benefits to clients, conducting informative emails and notes to send to key contacts
* Development of planning scheme into detailed construction drawings
* Working alongside the planning team regarding the planning conditions
* Development of Specification and tender documentation

The Snr Architectural Technician/Job Runner will take ownership of a project after the planning stage has been completed, this will include tender and bid preparation as well as initial visualisations, designs and construction drawings. The Job Runner will follow a project to completion once assigned liaising with team members and the client to ensuring the project is delivered on time, on budget and to the original design brief.
Our client expects the Snr Architectural Technician/Job Runner to be at least have a minimum of 5+ years as an Architectural Technician with proven experience within the residential and commercial sector, namely residential site development focussed towards the shell / exterior of a building as well as project experience for retail or leisure developments where the site has mixed use functions such as ground floor restaurants or offices with residential flats above.
The Snr Architectural Technician/Job Runner must also have demonstrable design skills with AutoCAD, REVIT experience would be extremely advantageous. You also MUST be able to produce technical and accurate construction drawings and NBS writing is preferable.
