Senior Architect / Senior Architectural Technologist

Cladding Remediation & Retrofit

Crawley Hybrid working (2 days WFH)
Salary negotiable

An established architectural practice is seeking a Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist to join its growing technical team, specialising in cladding remediation and retrofit projects across the residential and mixed-use sectors.

This is a hands-on technical role, suited to a confident Revit user with strong regulatory knowledge and experience working within the current Building Safety framework. You'll play a key role in delivering technically robust design packages while coordinating consultants and supporting compliance through the Gateway process.



The Role

  • Lead and deliver technical design packages for cladding remediation and retrofit schemes

  • Produce and coordinate detailed Revit models, drawings, and specifications

  • Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated legislation

  • Support and, where required, undertake BRPD (Building Regulations Principal Designer) duties

  • Prepare and contribute to Gateway 1, 2 & 3 submissions

  • Coordinate consultant and specialist subcontractor design information

  • Review contractor proposals, technical details, and material selections

  • Identify and manage technical and regulatory risks

  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and statutory authorities



Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Qualified Architect or Architectural Technologist

  • Strong Revit proficiency

  • 3-5 years' experience in cladding remediation, fa ade replacement, or retrofit projects

  • Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge

  • Good working knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022

  • Familiarity with the Gateway process

  • Understanding of BRPD responsibilities and design risk management

  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams

  • Strong communication and coordination skills

Desirable

  • Experience working on Higher-Risk Buildings

  • Previous involvement in BRPD roles or support functions

  • Knowledge of fire safety strategies, fa ade systems, and compliance routes

  • Immediate or short-notice availability
