We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a residential development project for a reputable M&E contractor. The successful candidate will have a strong background supervising mechanical building services works on new-build and refurbishment residential schemes, ideally within multi-unit housing or apartment developments.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all mechanical installation works on site
Manage subcontractors and direct labour across mechanical packages
Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
Monitor quality, progress, and compliance with drawings and standards
Conduct toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings
Liaise with project management, engineers, client representatives, and other trades
Coordinate works within occupied or phased handover residential environments where applicable
Ensure adherence to health & safety regulations and site procedures
Assist with inspections, snagging, testing, commissioning, and handover documentation
Requirements
Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on residential new-build or refurbishment projects
Experience working on multi-unit developments, apartments, or housing schemes
Strong knowledge of residential mechanical systems (HIUs, boosted cold water, domestic hot & cold water services, soil & waste, MVHR, ventilation, LTHW systems)
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Strong focus on health & safety and quality control
Relevant mechanical qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent)
SSSTS or SMSTS (required)
CSCS card (Supervisor or Gold Card preferred)
