A leading main contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join its London team, working on high-profile projects across the capital. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking business delivering complex, technically challenging schemes.

The Role

As a Construction Planner, you will play a key role in the successful planning and delivery of major construction projects, from pre-construction through to completion. You will work closely with project teams, commercial staff, and senior management to develop, manage, and maintain robust programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed construction programmes from tender stage through delivery

• Prepare baseline, target, and short-term programmes

• Carry out progress updates, programme reviews, and reporting

• Identify risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies within project schedules

• Support delay analysis, change management, and programme recovery where required

• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure programme alignment

About You

• Proven experience as a Planner within a main contractor environment

• Strong working knowledge of planning software (Primavera P6 essential; Asta Powerproject beneficial)

• Experience working on large-scale or complex construction projects

• Solid understanding of construction methodology and sequencing

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Degree-qualified in a construction-related discipline (desirable but not essential)
