Job Description

We are working with a reputable, busy commercial and residential contractor, recognised for delivering high-quality refurbishment and new build projects across South Wales. The business is known for its high staff retention and collaborative team culture.

Due to continued workload, the contractor has secured a school refurbishment project in Rhondda and is now seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of small works on site.

The project will involve refurbishment works within an operational educational environment, requiring a strong focus on health & safety, coordination, and stakeholder management. This role offers the opportunity to build a long-term relationship with a contractor that can provide ongoing work across the region.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations and successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily site activities and coordinating subcontractors
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget
  • Driving health, safety, and quality standards on site
  • Managing works within a live school environment
  • Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and inspections
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and school representatives
  • Maintaining accurate site records and progress reports
