Quantity Surveyor

Involve Recruitment are seeking an Assistant / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor with experience in food retail, fit-out, refurbishment. With a strong and growing pipeline of work , our client is looking for a motivated and commercially aware QS to join their team, working under the guidance of experienced Surveyors and Senior Surveyors to support projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and estimates for food retail projects
• Support procurement activities, including tendering and contractor appointments
• Monitor project costs, variations, and cash flow, reporting to the lead Surveyor
• Assist with interim valuations, cost reporting, and final account preparation
• Work closely with Project Managers, designers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures, and commercial best practice
• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards
• Assist in the delivery of supermarket refurbishments, rollouts, and new store developments

Requirements

• Degree-qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Experience within food retail, fit-out, refurbishment, or new build projects (level dependent)
• Working knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management principles
• Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Competent with cost management and reporting software
• MRICS or working towards (desirable but not essential)
