Experienced Project Architect required to lead the design and technical delivery of complex projects within the residential, care, or retirement living sectors.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from planning through construction, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, well-coordinated architectural outcomes.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with confident project leadership, acting as a key interface between clients, consultants and contractors.
About the Projects
You will work on projects recognised for delivering high-quality built environments that enrich communities. These include multi-room residential accommodation, care homes, and retirement living developments, often as part of a full turnkey delivery, from land acquisition and planning through design and construction.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Delivery
- Lead architectural design development across RIBA Stages 2 5.
- Produce and oversee high-quality technical drawings, specifications, and construction information.
- Maintain design integrity throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with planning conditions, building regulations and relevant standards.
- Coordinate architectural input with structural, MEP, and specialist consultants.
Project Leadership & Coordination
- Act as the main architectural point of contact on assigned projects.
- Chair and contribute to design team, technical, and coordination meetings.
- Monitor project progress against programme, proactively identifying and resolving design or technical risks.
- Undertake regular site visits, responding to technical queries and ensuring construction aligns with design intent.
Team Support & Mentoring
- Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to junior team members.
- Contribute to internal design reviews and continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
Project Architect Requirements
Essential
- Part III qualified / Chartered Architect with 1-4 years post qualification experience.
- Proven experience delivering projects through planning, technical design and construction stages.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK planning policy, building regulations and construction detailing.
- Proficiency in Revit/BIM and AutoCAD (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging clients, consultants and contractors.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
- Experience in residential, care, retirement living or large-scale developments.
- Experience working within a design-and-build or developer-led environment.
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness.
- Font end design experience.
