Electrical Estimating Manager

Location: Edinburgh

Boyd Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a well-established and growing Electrical Contractor to recruit an experienced Electrical Estimating Manager. This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing the estimating function and playing a central part in securing new business across a diverse portfolio of projects.

As Electrical Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the full estimating process, from tender review through to final submission, while managing and developing a team of estimators.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and leading the electrical estimating team

• Reviewing tender documentation, specifications, and drawings

• Preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates and cost plans

• Developing pricing strategies to maximise profitability and win rates

• Liaising with clients, main contractors, and supply chain partners

• Attending pre- and post-tender meetings

• Identifying value engineering opportunities and risk management strategies

• Supporting senior management with workload forecasting and business planning

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

• Proven experience in an Electrical Estimating Manager or Senior Electrical Estimator role

• Strong background within electrical contracting (commercial, residential, industrial or mixed-use projects)

• Excellent knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and current regulations

• Experience managing or mentoring estimators

• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
