Job Description

We re looking for a mid-level Architectural Technologist to contribute to the technical development of projects from planning through to delivery, primarily within the residential care and retirement living sectors.

Our conveniently based in Leeds just off the M62, specialises in creating communities that enhance quality of life, delivering modern care homes and retirement living developments that set the standard for the future.

In this role, you ll play an important part in ensuring designs are accurate, coordinated, and buildable, while supporting the wider development team in delivering high-quality built environments. You ll have the opportunity to see your designs through from feasibility and planning to construction, gaining exposure to a variety of residential and specialist projects.

About the Projects

You will work on projects recognised for high-quality design and community impact, including multi-room residential accommodation, care homes, and retirement living developments. Projects often involve full turnkey delivery, from land acquisition and planning through to construction.

Key Responsibilities for the Architectural Technologist

Technical Design & Delivery

  • Support the technical development of architectural designs across RIBA stages.
  • Produce and coordinate technical drawings, specifications, and construction information under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for statutory approvals and liaise with authorities as required.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies and site layouts.

Project Coordination & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the development team to support the design process across multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth technical delivery.
  • Undertake site visits to review progress and support the resolution of technical issues.

Professional Growth & Team Support

  • Receive guidance and mentoring from senior team members to develop your technical and project management skills.
  • Contribute ideas to improve workflows and technical standards.

Architectural Technologist Requirements

Essential

  • 2 5 years experience as an Architectural Technician, Architectural Technologist, or similar role.
  • Experience producing technical design information for projects from planning through to construction.
  • Proficiency in Revit/BIM and AutoCAD.
  • Good understanding of UK building regulations, planning requirements, and construction methods.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Desirable

  • Membership or working towards membership of CIAT (MCIAT).
  • Experience in residential, care, or retirement living projects.
  • Proactive, solution-focused, with strong attention to detail.
