This client are specialist contractors within the commercial and civil engineering sector, they are regarded as the 'go to' people for architectural metalwork which has led them to work on some prestigious and award nominated projects and buildings throughout London. The Senior Estimator will have worked previously within the construction industry and have computer and technical skills. It is essential that the Senior Estimator will be IT proficient as you will be working with different computer software's. You will need to have experience within the metalwork sector. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for an established, Regional Main Contractor based in Harrow, North West London / Middlesex, who are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator / Senior Estimator to work alongside the Commercial Director. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the position will be working closely with the Managing Director and Commercial Director; and you will be responsible for delivering projects from initial tender enquiry through to final account across Residential, Education, Retail, Commercial and Leisure sectors. Projects will consist of refurbishments schemes through to new build projects. Due to increased workload the business is seeking an outstanding Estimator / Senior Estimator to join the team and carry out all Estimating duties including: * Analyse Tender Documents * Prepare Supply Chain Package Enquiries * Identify suitable suppliers and sub-contractors for the project i.e. location / value / experience / ability * Sub-Contractor * Labour Only Sub-Contractor (LOSC) * Suppliers * Issue packages with accurate pricing schedule to allow comparison * Phone suppliers / sub-contractors to check if they are willing to price? * Review and assess tender quotations returned – what is not included, terms, conditions etc. * Prepare Direct items, measure, and price * Mid Tender Review with MD Identify Risk items to focus on at this stage? * Compile tender estimate, and Prelims etc. * Agree level of OHP with MD * Assist with methodology and programme and logistics – identify and provide information for procurement and any ‘special’ requirements. * Assist Bid Co-ordinator with preparing the tender bid submission * Ensure our return is compliant and meets all information requested – assess with SM & Bid Co-ordinator. * Follow through all Post Contract Addendums and Queries * Attend mid-bid and post-tender interviews This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior level construction professional to join a company which has had strong growth over the past 10 years - Turnover for year end March 2021 will be £25m+, they have secured a number of projects recently and are looking to continue their organic growth.
