We are seeking an experienced Plumbing, Heating & Gas Engineer to carry out installation, servicing, maintenance, and breakdown works across a varied portfolio of domestic properties and commercial sites.
The successful candidate will have strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, be comfortable working independently, and maintain high standards of workmanship, compliance and customer service.
Experience with air source and ground source heat pump systems is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Plumbing & Heating
Installation of domestic and commercial plumbing systems
First fix, second fix and final commissioning
Installation and modification of heating pipework (copper, MLCP, steel where applicable)
Fault finding and rectification on heating and hot water systems
Replacement of components including pumps, valves, cylinders, radiators and controls
Gas
Installation, servicing and breakdown of gas appliances
Domestic boilers and associated systems
Commercial gas plant
Gas safety inspections and certification
Tightness testing, purging and commissioning in accordance with regulations
Maintenance & Breakdown
Reactive breakdown attendance and fault diagnosis
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Accurate identification of faults and cost-effective repair solutions
Clear communication with clients regarding findings and recommendations
Renewables (Advantageous)
Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installation, servicing and fault finding
Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) installation, servicing and fault finding
Understanding of low-temperature heating systems
Familiarity with MCS standards and best practice
Compliance & Administration
Completion of job reports, service sheets and certification
Adherence to Gas Safe, manufacturer and H&S requirements
Working to RAMS and site-specific safety procedures
Maintaining accurate records and photographic evidence where required
Essential Requirements
NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
Domestic and commercial gas ACS qualifications
Proven experience in install, service and breakdown works
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence
Professional and customer-focused approach
Desirable / Advantageous
Commercial gas qualifications
Air Source Heat Pump experience
Ground Source Heat Pump experience
Unvented hot water certification
Experience working on commercial sites and plant rooms
MCS experience or willingness to train
