Development Engineer
Location: (Roving Role) Greater Manchester / Cheshire / Lancashire
Job Role
We are currently recruiting for a Development Engineer to work on 4 x projects in Manchester , Warrington and Chorley - the projects are Large House Building schemes and will include Earthworks , 278 Works , Setting Out, Resurfacing, Kerbing, Paving, Drainage, Footways, Roads and Public Realm.
You will be in a team of Engineers with a supporting Senior Engineer on the jobs.
Duties
- Core site engineering responsibilities, including precise setting out of works using engineering drawings, specifications, and control points.
- Deliver key elements of external civil works, such as pavement construction, road surfacing, kerb laying, and drainage installation, ensuring compliance with project and regulatory standards.
- Operating Leica TS16 Total Station and GPS surveying equipment for accurate spatial data capture and layout, supporting high-precision construction.
- Coordinate daily operations with subcontractors and site teams
- Manage the full project cycle of assigned tasks from site setup to final handover and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Interpret and implement technical drawings, method statements, and risk assessments, contributing to safe and efficient on-site execution.

Person Specification
- Experience as a Development Engineer
- Must have worked on Civils / Highways schemes
- HNC/HND/Degree in civil engineering would be beneficial
