Role requires you to: To carry out suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments as defined by Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Undertake fire risk assessments, inspections and audits across its estate including residential premises, supported schemes, commercial properties, workplaces and events. To be responsible for identifying all fire related risks and issues across the portfolio and specifying what needs to be undertaken to meet any significant findings, clearly identifying all works and not generic statements. Also post inspect necessary remedial actions. Work in collaboration with Riverside Directorates, Housing care and Support, One Direct, City Style and Riverside Development to maximise fire safety compliance. Liaise with other professional bodies including Building Control and the Fire Service. Support operational departments to ensure that our residents, staff and other stakeholders are aware of fire evacuation strategies in their buildings and advise on any potential changes in this strategy. To ensure that fire risk assessment reports are uploaded promptly and correctly to ODML management system to enable operational teams to update their action plan within agreed timescales. Liaise with operational teams to resolve risks of any serious and/or imminent danger and prioritise actions arising from the fire risk assessment process in order to resolve the most significant issues first. Assist Directorates with fire risk assessments including training, technical referral and review. Support local fire safety awareness campaigns. Ensure changes to legislation, codes of practice and procedures are identified and implemented effectively in accordance with agreed policies and procedures. To collate and analyse fire statistics and recommend preventative intervention methods to reduce fire risk To develop and maintain positive relationships with all Riverside Group Directorates, staff and contractors. To deliver continuous improvement and maintenance of high professional standards of excellence. Person Specification Knowledge, Skills and Experience Extensive experience of working within a fire safety risk assessment role and completing high quality assessments for a diverse property portfolio including high risk and complex buildings. Ability to demonstrate current independent professional accreditation/3rd party certification to FRACC competency criteria (eg Warrington, IFE, IFSM ) Will hold a NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent Will have a working knowledge of fire service procedures Will be able to interpret complex fire safety solutions that can contribute to fire strategies A detailed understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and ability to interpret compliance requirements to a range of different stakeholders. Ability to understand the impact of the significant findings and demonstrate extensive experience in the practical resolution and completion of these works within a social housing context. Experience of working effectively with non-technical end users to deliver effective fire solutions and produce high quality technical and end-user advice Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills, coupled with a professional approach and style Ability to respond to complex queries and provide innovative solutions Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly, accurately and convincingly through speech and/or in writing. Ability to provide accurate and timely fire advice to colleagues Results focus: sets high work standards for self and demonstrates drive to meet targets.
