Location: North West Based Company / Nationwide Work (UK-wide travel required)
Salary: £38,000 £42,000 DOE + Overtime + Bonus
Overview
MEP Technical is working with a well-established renewable energy and building services contractor to recruit an experienced Solar Installer / Electrician. This role offers nationwide project exposure, long-term stability, and the opportunity to work within a growing renewables-focused business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems while ensuring full compliance with current electrical regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Installation, wiring, and commissioning of solar PV systems and associated equipment
Electrical works carried out in line with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Testing, inspection, fault-finding, and commissioning of systems
Completion of all required documentation and electrical certification
Installation of roof vents and associated ventilation works where required
Liaising with site teams to ensure high-quality project delivery
Working across multiple UK sites (overnight stays may be required)
Adhering to all Health & Safety regulations and site procedures
Requirements
Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (essential)
Previous solar PV installation experience preferred (training available)
ECS / CSCS card (desirable)
Solar PV qualification
Battery Storage qualification (desirable)
2391 Testing & Inspection certification (desirable)
Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Flexible approach to nationwide travel
Professional, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
