Closely monitor and collate all existing and found information throughout the pre-construction phase, and ensure that these are captured and handed over to the delivery team following completion of the project. Support estimating team in production of construction programmes, prices, risk registers and initial key CDM / safety documentation. Support consenting teams in production of stakeholder management and consenting plans. Support commercial teams to ensure costs control is maintained throughout the lifecycle of the projects and administration of project commercials are maintained via NEC contracts. We'd love to hear from you if you can demonstrate: Contractual experience (ideally NEC) High Voltage and Utilities experience (preferably DNO and Streetworks) Substation development and build experience which includes, civils, electrical, cabling, protection and RTS. Demonstrable project management experience in pre-construction development and build projects. Significant technical and practical experience in projects management within DNO substations and highways. Detailed understanding of the power, transmission and distribution industry. Previous experience with working with primavera 6. Previous experience with working with Excel data. Excellent communication skills and an ability to analyse problems and offer solutions. Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Groundworks Manchester - Salary/Package: 65,000+ package About the Company We are a well-established construction contractor delivering a range of high-quality projects across the commercial, residential, and civil engineering sectors. The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Groundworks to join our team. This is a pivotal role, offering the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of groundworks projects, from commercial developments to large-scale civil engineering schemes. As Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Groundworks, you will be responsible for: Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for groundworks and civils projects. Managing the commercial aspects of live projects, including budgets, valuations, and variations. Collaborating with project managers and site teams to ensure financial control throughout the project lifecycle. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Monitoring project costs and providing regular reports to senior management. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be a commercially astute and proactive professional with extensive experience in groundworks or civil engineering projects. You will have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain strong client relationships, and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Groundworks will have: Proven experience as a Senior QS or Estimator, ideally within groundworks or civil engineering. Strong knowledge of cost estimating, tendering, and contract management. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Relevant qualifications such as MRICS, RICS APC, or equivalent experience. They are a reputable, family-run civils contractor who have been operating in the region for over 40 years, delivering pieces of key local infrastructure. They have grown to a recognised brand in the Humberside region. They operate as main contractor & have strong self-delivery capabilities. Due to several recent work wins they are looking for a capable Site Agent / Site Manager to join them long term. (All work is regional and usually concise within Humberside and surrounding area). Projects Specifics: initial works are s278, junction improvements, drainage packages for local authority / council clients. Along with a variety of general civils: bridges, public realm, streetworks etc. Projects from 250k to 5m usually. Duties as Site Agent: Managing site team and supply chain to deliver to targets and deadlines Amending and briefing RAMS Updating spreadsheets & site records Progress meetings with senior management Managing direct labour & sub-contractors Ensure HSE standards are met on site Ordering materials & plant Promoting sustainable solutions for projects Undertaking daily site diaries Experience Required as Site Agent: Must have experience as Site Agent / Site Manager on civil engineering schemes as main contractor or sub-contractor.
