Senior Estimator (Main Contractor) Permanent North West London

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + package

Location: London

I have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join a reputable main contractor with a turnover exceeding £100m, based in their offices in North West London.

The company has been around for close to 30 years and has continuously grown year after year. They started out as a refurbishment contractor carrying out demolition and structural alteration packages, and over the years have evolved into a reputable concrete, groundworks, structural alterations and package contractor, carrying out challenging, complex structural projects across a range of sectors including Healthcare, Education, Industrial, Retail, Commercial, Social Housing and Residential.

They have widened their services over the years and now offer their clients full construction services within their Main Contract Division and Rail & Infrastructure Works Division, supported by their Plant Division.

A high proportion of their work comes from repeat business with clients who appreciate their flexibility and professional approach, and their ability to get the job done the right way. The company also has a high staff retention rate which speaks volumes.

They are looking for a Senior Estimator to join them on a permanent basis, working on projects between £500,000 and £20m in value using various types of contract including JCT, NEC and Design & Build options.

• Track record working for a reputable Main Contractor on various project/contract types across a range of sectors up to £20m in value
• Administration of the full tender process from inception to settlement with Directors
• Capability of producing accurate Cost Plans - knowledge of building costs per m /ft
• Understanding of various forms of Procurement Process - including 2 stage tenders
• Ability to provide own BQ for specification and drawing projects
• Knowledge of system estimating software
• Highlighting Tender Risk & Opportunities - Practical, Commercial & Contractual
• Preparation of Notes and Clarifications for Tender Submissions
• Demonstrate ability in the pricing of tender Preliminaries
• Ability to resource the tender through in depth experience of Supply Chain capacity
• Understanding Design & Build tenders including co-ordinating Design Consultants
• Formulating Contractors Proposals
• Outlining the relevance of CDPs within a given scheme
• Competency of M & E Services installation and 'Green' Building techniques
• Ability to partake in meaningful value engineering exercises
• Attendance and presentation at Mid Bid & Post Tender Interviews
• Investigation various forms of construction and liaising with Specialist Sub-Contractors
• Modular, Pre Fabricated Systems
• Basic understanding of NRM & BIM
