Senior Quantity Surveyor Tier 1 Main Contractor £120m+ Commercial New Build Zone 1 Up to £100,000 + Package A leading multi-discipline Tier 1 main contractor is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a lead commercial role on a £120m+ commercial new build project. The business delivers major, technically demanding projects across a wide range of sectors for repeat clients. It has a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for long-term career development. This is a senior, high-visibility position on a major scheme, ideal for someone ready to step up towards Commercial Manager level. The role You'll own the commercial management of the project. You'll report to the Commercial Manager, lead and develop the project's QS team, and work alongside the Project Director and the wider delivery team. Responsibilities include: Full commercial management from pre-construction through to final account Leading subcontract procurement strategy, tendering and appointments Preparing monthly CVRs, cost reports and forecasts for the Commercial Manager and senior leadership Managing client valuations, applications and the client final account Overseeing change management, variations, compensation events and early warnings Managing commercial risk and opportunity, with a focus on protecting and improving margin Making sure the project complies with JCT and/or NEC contracts Mentoring and developing the Project QS and Assistant QS team members Building strong relationships with client teams, consultants and the supply chain What you'll need Main contractor experience is essential. Candidates must come from a main contracting background. Consultancy-only or subcontractor-only backgrounds will not be considered. A stable CV is essential. You'll need to demonstrate strong tenure and commitment with previous employers. Frequent job moves will not be considered for this role.
