Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: King s Lynn, Norfolk
Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum + competitive benefits

The Opportunity
An established and growing construction business operating across East Anglia is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.
The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple projects from tender stage through to final account. The role will suit a commercially astute Senior QS who is confident operating independently while contributing to a wider team strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and supporting tenders, pricing and commercial submissions
Producing take-offs, Bills of Quantities and subcontract enquiries
Reviewing and negotiating contract terms to ensure commercial alignment
Attending pre-start and progress meetings with clients and stakeholders
Managing monthly valuations in line with agreed programmes
Identifying, valuing and agreeing variations and change control
Carrying out site measurements and monitoring progress against budgets
Leading subcontract procurement, selection and commercial appointments
Managing subcontractor valuations, payments, and invoice approval
Producing cost value reconciliations, forecasts and final accounts
Maintaining accurate cost reporting and commercial controls
Supporting the development of commercial strategies to protect margins
Building strong working relationships with clients, consultants and site teams
Essential experience:
Proven experience in a Senior QS or established QS role ready to take the next step in your career
Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
High level of commercial awareness and attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team environment
Desirable:
Relevant construction, surveying or commercial qualification (HND / Degree / RICS pathway)
SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
