Job Description

Our client is seeking a qualified Civils Quantity Surveyor with highways and civil engineering experience, to join a established business and conduct works in the Rochdale and Trafford area, Manchester. This permanent position provides an excellent platform to grow your career while working on high-profile infrastructure projects.

Monday - Friday, 8 hour days, £50k-£60k salary depending on qualifications and experience

The position is an immediate start following a successful interview (end of January/ start of February)

Key Job Responsibilities:

- Manage all commercial and cost control activities including site measurements, cost reporting, forecasting, financial tracking and the agreement of final accounts.

- Prepare and manage valuations, quotations and estimates, ensuring accuracy and alignment with drawings, specifications and client requirements.

- Oversee subcontractor commercial management, including enquiries, procurement, order placement, valuations and payment assessments.

- Manage financial administration, reporting and stock control, maintaining clear, accurate and up-to-date commercial records while working closely with the finance and administration teams to support accurate account settlement, audit trails and effective project governance.

- Coordinate closely with site teams and business centre managers to ensure strong communication.

- Represent the company professionally with clients, supply chain partners and external stakeholders, building strong working relationships.

Ideal candidates:

- Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related occupations.

- Strong background in Civil Engineering and Highways infrastructure, with extensive experience delivering major projects for both public and private sector clients under NEC and JCT forms of contract (primarily NEC).

- Highly commercially aware, with a solid understanding of construction costs, project components and effective financial control.

- Excellent communicator and team player, able to work collaboratively with clients, site teams and colleagues while also supporting and mentoring others where required.

- Highly organised and detail-focused, with the ability to maintain accuracy across commercial, financial and contractual documentation.

- Strong IT capability, including MS Office, Outlook and measurement software, supporting efficient and accurate commercial management.

- Self-motivated and ambitious, with the confidence to make informed decisions and work independently/ not supervised when required and desire to become an integral part of the team.
