Mechanical Project Manager - Data Centre Works
Slough
£75,000-£85,000 + Paid Travel + Multiple Bonus Schemes
Group Metropolitan are looking to appoint a Mechanical Project Manager to oversee a long-term programme of works on a data centre project based in Slough.
This role will focus on the delivery of multiple small works mechanical packages, typically valued between £200k-£400k, secured under a minimum 3-year framework. It offers long-term stability, variety of work, and the opportunity to become a key part of a specialist delivery team.
The Role
  • Managing multiple mechanical small works projects concurrently within a live data centre environment
  • Overseeing delivery from pre-construction through to completion and handover
  • Managing subcontractors, programme, quality and health & safety
  • Coordinating with the client, consultants and internal teams
  • Managing variations, cost control and reporting
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard
Project Environment
  • Live operational environments
  • Data centres (prior experience beneficial but not essential)
  • Comparable backgrounds welcomed from:
    • Commercial buildings
    • Financial institutions
    • Hospitals or healthcare
    • Other critical or live environments
Requirements
  • Strong mechanical background within building services
  • Proven experience managing projects in live or critical environments
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders
  • Strong client-facing and organisational skills
  • Comfortable overseeing smaller packages on a rolling programme basis
