MEP Commissioning / Delivery Manager Airport Project (Gatwick)

Location: Gatwick Airport (full-time on site)
Duration: 12-month contract
Rate: £350 per day
Expenses: Travel, accommodation & subsistence covered

The Role

We are seeking an experienced MEP Commissioning / Delivery Manager to support the delivery of a major airport pier extension at Gatwick Airport. with an MEP package value of circa £20m.

This is a hands-on, proactive role focused on driving the MEP works through delivery, commissioning, handover and operational readiness. This is not a passive reporting or witnessing position the successful candidate will actively challenge, coordinate and push the construction and MEP teams to ensure a smooth transition into commissioning and handover.

You will be supported remotely by a senior commissioning manager who has recently delivered a comparable airport project, ensuring continuity, lessons learnt and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive MEP delivery through construction into commissioning and handover

  • Proactively identify gaps, risks and sequencing issues ahead of the commissioning phase

  • Coordinate MEP contractors and specialist packages in a management-contracting environment

  • Lead commissioning strategy, readiness, and execution

  • Oversee handover documentation, O&M manuals, training and soft landings activities

  • Act as a key interface between the project team, MEP contractors and client stakeholders

  • Ensure transparency, programme certainty and quality of delivery

Required Experience

  • Strong background managing complex MEP systems on large infrastructure or aviation projects

  • Proven experience taking projects from MEP delivery through commissioning & handover

  • Previous airport, rail, healthcare or similarly complex environments highly desirable

  • Confident working in a fast-paced, proactive delivery role

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Additional Requirements

  • Must be eligible to obtain an airside pass (UK right to work, background checks)

  • Willing to be full-time on site at Gatwick

  • Available for a long-term contract (circa 12 months)
