Job Description

Job Title: Conservation Architect

Location: Basingstoke

Salary: 38-45,000 DOE

A well-established architectural practice is seeking an experienced conservation architect, either already accredited or working towards accreditation, to join their collaborative and supportive studio. The practice is renowned for delivering high-quality projects across residential, education, heritage, and commercial sectors, with a strong focus on conservation and heritage-led design. The successful candidate will be fully office-based, contributing to a friendly, professional environment while working on a range of engaging conservation projects.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Accredited in conservation architecture, or actively working towards accreditation
  • Strong design and technical skills in heritage and conservation projects
  • Knowledge of heritage regulations, listed building consent, and historic building techniques
  • Excellent communication and team-working abilities
  • Passionate about professional development, mentoring, and heritage-led design

Daily Duties:

  • Leading conservation and heritage projects from concept to completion
  • Coordinating with clients, heritage bodies, consultants, and contractors
  • Preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and planning submissions for listed and historic buildings
  • Mentoring junior staff and supporting colleagues' professional growth
  • Participating in studio meetings, design reviews, and project planning
