EHV Technical Lead

Hyperscale Datacentre Client-side Consultancy

My client is seeking an EHV Technical Specialist to oversee, validate, and assure the delivery of 220kV 400kV substation and transmission-level systems for a hyperscale data centre project. This role requires deep utility-grade expertise, advanced safety competency, and experience working on grid-connected EHV infrastructure, far beyond typical HV project scopes.

• Lead and assure the design, installation, testing, and energisation of EHV systems (kV).

• Oversee grid interface works, relay protection schemes, and utility-side integration.

• Validate EHV commissioning plans, switching sequences, and safety documentation.

• Coordinate with TSOs / DSOs, OEMs, and specialist EHV contractors.

• Ensure compliance with transmission-level standards, protection coordination studies, and critical safety protocols.

• Troubleshoot complex issues on transformers, GIS, protection relays, and EHV controls.

• Have proven experience on grid, transmission, or large substation projects at 220kV+.

• Understand EHV protection systems, insulation coordination, earthing, and system stability.

• Have strong experience working with utilities, switching programs, and live-system risk management.

• Thrive in high-stakes technical environments where quality and safety are non-negotiable.
