Quantity Surveyor Contract

Location: Kent
Hours: Full-time
Contract Type: Contract

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a complex civil engineering project based in Kent. This is a contract opportunity offering involvement across the full project lifecycle on a technically challenging scheme.

The role will suit a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a strong civils background and experience working under NEC contracts (Option A), ideally within specialist construction or infrastructure environments.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for estimating, controlling, and reporting project costs while ensuring all works meet contractual, legal, and quality standards. You will be involved at every stage of the project and work closely with site and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of internal commercial reporting and management information

  • Preparation of valuations and applications for payment with full supporting documentation

  • Production of cost reports to the client in line with contractual requirements

  • Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules

  • Administration of subcontractor and supplier accounts, including interim payments and final accounts

  • Contract administration, including change management and maintenance of associated registers

  • Identification and management of commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change

  • Use of internal costing systems to manage cost control and performance

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • A relevant industry qualification

  • Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of standard forms of contract and methods of measurement

  • Experience within a construction or civil engineering environment

  • General civils experience, ideally on infrastructure or specialist works

  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • Good communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
