Position Summary:
We are looking to engage an experienced tracked 360 Excavator Operator at our Terminal in Attercliffe, Sheffield. There will also be an opportunity to operate within other Terminals within an 80 mile radius of Sheffield. If required, a vehicle can be provided for the commute between terminals, alternatively an attractive mileage allowance is offered for the use of your own vehicle
You will, as part of a small team be responsible for the safe and effective operations for loading and unloading box wagons brought in to the Terminal via Train
We require the successful operator to have at least 2 years' experience of operating a tracked 360 excavator over 10 tonnes and ideally be competent in the use and operation of a clamshell loading attachment
This role will be engaged on a Temporary to Permanent basis
Payment is weekly during the temp engagement and then monthly once under permanent contract.
There is a 33 days pa holiday allowance
Person Profile/Experience:
You will be a Team Player with an excellent attitude to work and responsibility. You will be H&S aware and be prepared to maintain H&S protocols whilst on the Terminal
You will be well organised, flexible in your approach and prepared to drive to our other terminals from time to time to undertake loading/unloading of wagons. There are occasions when we have loads arriving mid-afternoon at weekends, you will be required to drive to the terminal and undertake the unloading and overtime is paid for this activity
Whilst a Team Player there will be times where working alone is essential, so confidence in yourself and equipment is a pre-requisite of the role. You should be able to prove attention to detail, organisational, reliable and utterly punctual from your previous employment
Key Criteria:
A minimum of 2 years recent experience of operating a tracked 360 excavator
Use of a clamshell loading attachment
Previous Ports or Terminals experience
H&S aware
Driver with current license, ideally no more than 6 points
CPCS (Blue), NPORS or EPIC tickets are the minimum requirement for this role
Live within 25 miles of the Terminal
