Job Description

Job Title: Site Manager
Location: Lancaster
Employment Type: Full-time (Fixed Term: January 2026 July 2026 est.)
Day Rate: £280 £300 per day (CIS)
Hours: 8:00am 5:00pm (unless otherwise instructed)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee day-to-day operations on a live site in Lancaster. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work confidently with tenants, subcontractors, and clients. A solid background in Health & Safety is essential, alongside the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all daily site activities and workforce coordination
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, tenants, and project stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong rapport with clients and onsite tenants
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
• Conduct regular site inspections and uphold H&S compliance
• Prepare and maintain accurate site records, including RAMS and daily logs
• Communicate clearly with all parties and manage expectations
• Lead site meetings and provide direction to onsite teams
• Monitor progress and report updates to senior management
• Assist with procurement planning and resource allocation
• Maintain quality control and ensure adherence to technical and contractual requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

• SSSTS (valid)
• CSCS card (essential)
• First Aid trained
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage tenants and build strong client relationships
• Experience in construction site supervision/management
• Strong understanding of construction processes and building regulations
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams
• Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings
• IT-literate (e.g., MS Office, site reporting software)
• Experience working on Listed/Heritage building refurbishments

Desirable Skills & Experience (Highly Advantageous)

Experience working on Listed/Heritage building refurbishments

Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil works ideal for someone confident navigating technical interfaces across multiple disciplines
