Job Description

As a Site Engineer, you will support the delivery of high-quality external works and public-realm projects in Cleethorpes. You will be responsible for setting-out, surveying, quality control, and technical coordination, ensuring works are carried out accurately, safely, and in line with project specifications. You will work closely with the site management team, subcontractors, and client representatives to help deliver premium hard- and soft-landscaping environments.

Key Responsibilities Setting Out & Surveys
  • Carry out accurate setting-out for paving, kerbing, drainage, substructures, utilities, and landscaping elements.
  • Complete topographic and as-built surveys and maintain detailed engineering records.
  • Check levels, alignments, dimensions, and installation accuracy.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure all works meet design specifications, industry standards, and project quality requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain ITPs, quality check sheets, and testing documentation.
  • Support inspections, snagging, and handover processes.
Technical & Design Coordination
  • Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents; raise queries where required.
  • Assist with material approvals, samples, and mock-ups.
  • Liaise with designers, consultants, and the wider project team.
Health, Safety & Environmental
  • Promote strong safety culture and ensure compliance with RAMS and site procedures.
  • Support environmental management, waste control, and sustainability targets.
Site Management Support
  • Coordinate subcontractors and assist with short-term planning.
  • Maintain site diaries, progress records, and engineering logs.
  • Assist with material management, logistics, and site layout planning.
Skills & Experience
  • HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in external works, public realm, landscaping, or civil engineering.
  • Competent with robotic total stations, GPS, and CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of drainage, utilities, paving, earthworks, and concrete works.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • CSCS card essential; SSSTS/SMSTS beneficial.
