Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Drylining

Central London Projects 35,000- 45,000 + Package

An established drylining and interiors contractor is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting the delivery of multiple high-quality packages across Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven QS looking to take the next step in their career and gain hands-on, site-based experience on fast-paced construction projects.



The Role

As an Assistant QS, you will work closely with the Project QS and Commercial Manager, assisting with the commercial management of drylining, SFS, ceilings, and partitioning packages. You will be based on site and play a key role in cost control, valuations, procurement, and subcontractor management.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the measurement, take-offs, and preparation of BOQs

  • Support the preparation of monthly valuations and applications for payment

  • Track project costs, variations, and change control

  • Support procurement of materials and subcontractors

  • Review and analyse subcontractor quotations

  • Assist with drafting contracts and orders

  • Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation

  • Liaise with site teams to ensure financial and contractual requirements are met

  • Attend site meetings and support commercial reporting

  • Provide general commercial support to senior QS staff



About You

  • 1-3 years' experience within drylining, interiors, or general subcontracting QS roles

  • Strong understanding of measurements and construction drawings

  • Analytical, organised, and confident working in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships on site

  • Keen to progress towards Project QS responsibilities

  • Ideally studying or recently completed a degree/HNC in Quantity Surveying
