Job Description

Quantity Surveyor Opportunity - Central London

Mivan is a dynamic and progressive specialist joinery and interior fit out contractor with a reputation for excellence and innovation. We are currently looking for an experienced and driven Quantity Surveyor to manage the project budget in order to attain commercial targets.

Candidates should have 3 4 Years previous experience on new build and fit out type projects and a third level qualification in a Quantity Surveying or Construction related subject. The ideal candidate will be commercially astute, be articulate and pro active as well as having excellent organisational and communication skills.

Main duties will include:
  • Preparation & management of the project budget
  • Procurement of subcontractors and agreement of subcontract conditions
  • Commercial control of subcontract packages
  • Value and agree the cost of any variations
  • Prepare cost, value and reconciliation monthly reports on each assigned project
  • With regards to estimate, build up costs for each element of the work, identify labour, material requirements and source and obtain quotations where applicable.
  • Liaise with purchasing / buying for specialist providers
  • Attend internal hand over meetings
  • Provide feedback information to the Estimating team regarding tender values vs. actual costs
  • Maintain working relationships with the client and project team
  • Providing contractual advice to the Project Manager
  • Undertake any other duties and projects allocated, which are within the individual's sphere of Knowledge, experience or competency
