Coordinate installation of roof-mounted plant, air handling units (AHUs), destratification fans, ductwork, and warehouse environmental control systems. Oversee mechanical works within plant rooms and service yards, ensuring correct installation of pumps, pipework, valves, and packaged plant equipment. Enforce strict health & safety standards, including permit-to-work systems, hot works, working at height (MEWPs/scissor lifts), lifting operations, and safe isolation procedures. Review drawings, BIM models, and technical submittals to identify clashes and ensure coordination with structural steel, sprinkler systems, electrical containment, and conveyor installations. Monitor and manage mechanical installation programme to align with sectional handovers and phased warehouse fit-out requirements. Coordinate deliveries and cranage of large mechanical plant, ensuring correct positioning, inspection, and compliance with specifications. Carry out inspections, pressure testing, duct leakage testing, and pre-commissioning checks to ensure systems meet industrial performance standards. Liaise with main contractor, design consultants, and client representatives to resolve technical queries and maintain project progress. Our Client is a major London-based Mechanical and Electrical sub-contractor with international reach. We are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Building Services Installation Supervisor on their behalf. The role involves initially working on a large commercial office development in Germany. Our client provides accomodation and operates a 12-day-on, 4-day-off shift pattern. However, due to the recent epidemic they have experienced some issues with transport and logistics for their site based personnel in Europe. As such, and for practical reasons, they would prefer to recruit a Mechanical Supervisor who does not require regular trips home until travel restrictions are eased- a German speaker who would enjoy staying on the country during the project would be their ideal.
