Working with a regional housing developer, this opportunity will be varied and offer great expose to both current and forward land acquisitions and land bank management. This will also involve achieving planning on forward land interest both options and land acquired.
The role:
* Develop and maintain the land appraisal system, investigating, reporting and ultimately purchasing land
* Assist with the preparation of bids and the ongoing management of land acquired
* Ensure an efficient database is maintained of current and forward land
* Assist in the management of the forward land bank, effectively promoted through the planning system with relevant local authorities in order to achieve appropriate planning consent
* Monitor development plan progress and assist in making representations where appropriate
* Research the planning history of development sites and provide appropriate advice
* Regular liaison with external bodies such as; local authorities, health authorities, local agents, land owners, other developers and consultants

The Technical Report Writer's role is varied and includes interviewing clients, identifying developments/enhancements within their business, extracting the necessary information and compiling a detailed report based on all the above.
This report will allow companies to claim tax credits on any research and development work they have undertaken and can make a considerable positive difference financially to their business.
The role involves communicating with and understanding the build and construction processes of a wide variety of customers- most of these customers are specialist contractors in the groundworks/rc frame industry. This therefore involves an adaptable person with effective communication and questioning skills, verbal written and presentation skills and the ability to analyse and find the information required for a successful claim.
The candidate should ideally have 5 years postgraduate experience with an underlying Engineering/Science base- ideally you will have worked as a Site Engineer or Site Manager and be looking for something different.
You will be based ta my client's head office in Hertfordshire but will regularly travel to meet customers and compile reports.
Skills and Experience Required
Minimum of 5 years postgraduate experience with an underlying Engineering/ Science base
Strong time management and prioritisation skills
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to communicate effectively with multiple clients at different levels of seniority

THE ROLE
Working closely with the Business Manager, Commercial Manager and Bids Team, the Project Engineer has a varied role supporting the day-to-day operations of a small but growing engineering firm. The role supports the Directors, Projects teams, and the Bids & Development Team.
Supporting all electrical installations up to 400kV, working with project teams for current contracts and supporting the Bids Manager on Research & Development for new proposals;

Reviewing project requirements and developing designs to technical specifications with project team, including calculations to substantiate the design;
Documenting procedures and reporting on performance against targets internally and for the client, in adherence with client/our own best practice procedures, safety and site rules. This includes working closely with our HSEQ Coordinator and Project Managers;
Documentation support – installation, commissioning and operating documents;
Actively contribute to design review, safety review (Risk Assessment and HAZOPS) – for technical, financial and risk mitigation – developing contingency plans and ensuring the company’s policies relating to Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental management are implemented consistently;
Assisting with project related and technical procurement – equipment (including repair versus replace analysis; quality control; health & safety) and resource (including need analysis requirements; supporting workforce management; providing technical advice to workforce including engineers, technicians and subcontractors);
Working towards gaining a commercial understanding of projects and assisting with compilation of Application for payments
Provide Technical Support to the Project Managers and Bids Team.
Reviewing Electrical and Fibre Optic Testing Procedures, Equipment and assist with compiling Results and Reports
Setup and update Project expense logs
Provide administrative and technical support in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations.
Provide support to the PM, Management team, Stores and Directors.

Graduate Mechanical Engineer
The graduate engineer will report to the Senior project engineer. The job functions will include but will not be limited to the following:
To work on tender packages, determining what materials are required, pricing the materials and estimating labour requirements. This will be done in conjunction with the purchasing and installation department.
To develop costing spreadsheets for the improved costing of projects and to reduce the time for these to be completed.
To assist with providing project management flow charts for tenders/projects won. This may include laying out a timeline for materials and labour as per the project quotation ensuring work can be carried out on time and within budget.
To liaise with our product research engineering team working based at IT Carlow, who are currently working on the upgrade and development of our existing glycol beer cooling system.
To help develop energy efficient solutions for customers, particularly in the heating side of our business. This will involve analysing existing installations and advising on better energy efficient solutions for the customer.
To produce design drawings where necessary using our in house Solidworks 3D & Autocad 2D package.
To assess the present company Health & safety documentation and develop same so that the company can achieve Safe-T cert certification
