Our Structural Engineering team delivers projects across commercial, R&D, residential, and energy sectors, including both new build and refurbishment work. The team works closely with other in-house specialists in civil engineering, traffic and transport, building surveying, and geomatics, providing a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages professional development and technical learning.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our dynamic Didcot team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, technically confident engineer to take ownership of challenging projects, and deliver innovative, high-quality structural solutions. You will work on a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple sectors, gaining exposure to both design and client-facing responsibilities, and playing a key role in shaping the built environment.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the technical delivery of structural engineering projects, including financial and project management aspects.
  • Work closely with other members of the team and report to the project director.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with Architects, clients, subcontractors and other professionals whilst carrying out duties and at all times represent the business, in a professional and courteous way.
  • Assessing the sustainability and environment impact of projects.
  • Making sure the project complies with statutory requirements, including health and safety.
Key skills & experience (dependent on level)
  • Minimum qualification - degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience in relevant structural design.
  • An ability to prepare structural designs in all conventional materials and experience in refurbishment projects.
  • An understanding of soil mechanics and foundation design.
  • An ability to take a global view of structural design on a project, identifying potential problems and solutions and providing advice to clients on design options.
  • An ability to prepare schematic structural design based on a basic architectural layouts.
  • An ability to speak clearly, confidently, professionally and convincingly at meetings and on the telephone.
  • An ability to write clear and concise emails, letters and reports.
  • An ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
