Access Talent Group are currently recruiting for a UK Medium sized design consultancy who are looking for a principal or Lead Civil Engineer working in the substation and Electrical infrastructure design.

This opportunity is for a Lead of Principal Civil Engineer to come into this consultancy in a new and developing team within Electrical Infrastructure and Substation design. You will be working with clients across the UK on civil and structural elements to newbuild and upgrades to substation and transformer infrastructure design. A successful Principal will have the experience and autonomy to come in and hit the ground running. The development plan for this principal will be to lead a team of civil engineers within this sector and bring their design in house.

Key responsibilities and attributes
  • Degree level qualification or HND in Civil or Structural engineering
  • Preferability Ieng or CEng professional qualification achieved.
  • Have experience with substation design.
  • Experience with Reinforced concrete, heavy civils, development civil Infrastructure.
  • Civil and Structural experience
  • Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE) experience, as defined by National Grid's TP137 procedure.
  • Good understanding of UK Environmental and Waste Management legislation and requirements.
  • Good knowledge of National Grid's Transmission Procedures, in particular: TP106, TP135, TP137, TP141, TP153, TP184, TP188, TP219, TP221, TP235, TP241
Other requirements
  • Ideally based within commutable distance to Manchester but will consider candidates further afield (nationally).
  • They a hybrid home-office working arrangement and happy to consider flexible working.
  • Salaried or contract (Outside IR35).
