A well-established building services consultancy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support ongoing growth across residential and low-carbon energy projects. This is a key opportunity to work on the design and delivery of heating energy centres within residential developments, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and energy efficiency.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and coordination of mechanical systems including heating, ventilation, and domestic hot water systems. Projects are delivered in accordance with industry standards such as CIBSE CP1 and the evolving HNTAS regulations.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical building services design

• Strong knowledge of residential building projects and energy centre design

• Familiarity with CIBSE CP1 and HNTAS regulatory requirements

• Proficient in design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and MepWorx

• Experience working with or for contractors is advantageous but not essential

• Able to manage design from concept through to construction

Responsibilities

• Carrying out mechanical design calculations and technical drawings

• Collaborating with electrical engineers and other design disciplines

• Ensuring all designs are compliant with relevant standards and client specifications

• Attending design team meetings and supporting project delivery from early stages through to completion

Package

• Competitive salary: £55,000 £65,000 depending on experience
