Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician
Location: Sheffield
Reports to: Site Facilities Supervisor / Site Facilities Manager
Employment Status: Full-time, rotating days and afternoons shift pattern
Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our technical maintenance team. This multi-skilled role supports the operation of site infrastructure services, ensuring reliability, safety, and continuous improvement across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Maintenance
- Maintain, test, service, fault-find, modify, and repair a wide range of electrical equipment
- Support site infrastructure, including:
- Emergency lighting
- Control panels
- Motors, pumps, inverter drives, conveyors
- LV systems
- Internal and external lighting
- Carry out basic electrical installations as required
- Conduct electrical testing and inspection (PAT, RCDs, electrical installations)
- Undertake basic HVAC fault-finding and repairs
- Work toward becoming APLV for the site
Operational & Compliance Duties
- Ensure all work requests are completed to maximise operational uptime
- Log downtime and report root cause analysis
- Work closely with site management, supervisors, peers, and Mondelez teams
- Support site health & safety processes including PTW issue and contractor control
- Complete all required training and contribute to departmental continuous improvement
Dimensions of the Role
- Full-time, 5 days per week
- Includes scheduled weekends, shift work, and an on-call rota
- No direct reports
- Daily interaction with client shift managers and operational teams
- Based at the Mondelez Sheffield site
Experience, Qualifications & Skills
Essential
- Multi-skilled engineering background
- City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC / HNC or equivalent engineering qualification
- 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills
- Electrical installation capability
- Ability to read, interpret, and sketch technical drawings and documentation
- Good knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Good IT literacy (PC basics)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High customer focus
Desirable
- Knowledge of control systems, inverter drives, BMS, and PLCs
