Salary: £40,000 to £60,000 (dependent on experience) plus company car or generous car allowance, which is above the market average. About the role We are currently looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to enhance the current team and support projects in all commercial aspects of the business. The role will be based in Leeds but will involve visits to the projects as required. Ensure applications and invoices are issued on time, accurate and in adherence to the contract terms. Commercially manage change events for a successful outcome. About the role We are currently looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to enhance the current team and support projects in all commercial aspects of the business. The role will be based in Leeds but will involve visits to the projects as required. Primarily focussed within our Remediation and Civil Engineering operations but involved in all aspects of the business, this role requires someone who is dynamic and wishes to develop their career quickly and progress upward within the business. Key Responsibilities: Review and ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions. Attend site as required and ensure commercial compliance is being followed. Ensure applications and invoices are issued on time, accurate and in adherence to the contract terms. Commercially manage change events for a successful outcome. Review any debtors and assist the credit control team with any outstanding payments. Monthly reporting of WIP and Cost Value Reports. Review of weekly operational reports for commercial tracking. Provide contractual and commercial assistance on projects, including attending progress meetings and assisting with programme management under NEC projects. Commercially manage subcontractors Placing of orders and certification of applications, management of change and agreement of the final accounts. Resolve any client financial or contractual issues and dispute and Final Account projects. Control WIP levels and review monthly. Review and control monthly Gross Profit report to ensure accurate costs and revenues. Mentor junior members of the team. The ideal candidate will need to be degree qualified and have demonstrable post-qualification experience in Quantity Surveying. In addition, the ideal candidate must be proficient in reviewing valuations, issuing payment notices and undertaking both employer's agent and cost reports. The role will be predominately home-based but frequent travel to our sites will be required which is usually within a 1-hour commute from Peterborough. To prepare project risk registers including providing mitigation strategies to ensure that project risk is managed on projects up to a value of £25m. To prepare feasibility studies, estimates, cost plans and value for money reports for projects up to a value of £25m. To prepare of pre/post tender documentation and evaluation on projects up to a value of £25m. To prepare financial appraisals of tenders for schemes and financial forecasts for projects up to a value of £25m. To review and comment on House-builders’ Development Agreements and providing contract advice to the Development Team. To prepare of contractual documentation ready for signing and sealing by Directors for projects up to a value of £25m. To provide the administration of S106 development agreements and building contracts on projects up to a value of £25m. To chairing monthly site meetings on projects up to a value of £25m, taking and preparing minutes, and reporting on progress and programme. To process claims and mitigating costs for projects up to a value of £25m. To manage contract scope including produce Employer’s Agent and Cost Reports on a monthly basis reporting on estimated final project costs, quality of work, construction progress and contractor’s claims. To preparation of certificates for all interim payments to the contractor for projects up to a value of £25m. To issue monthly valuations and cost forecasts and production of final accounts for payment by the client for projects up to a value of £25m. To take handover of properties on behalf of the Client ensuring all certification and documentation has been provided by the Contractor/Developer. To complete post completion analysis of outcome scheme costs in elemental format and submission of data to the Building Cost Information Service. To provide mentoring to Apprentice, Graduate, and Assistant Quantity Surveyors. Requirements BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management or similar (direct route) OR; MSc in Quantity Surveying and registered for the Assessment of Professional Competence for membership of the Royal Institution of Charted Surveyors (indirect route) Strong and effective communication skills Highly skilled in contract negotiation Self-starter and pro-active approach Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail A flexible attitude to be able to respond to the needs of the business Excellent financial cost control skills and ability to communicate the financial position of contract to stakeholders and clients on a monthly basis Excellent problem-solving skills A clear DBS check will be required for this role A full UK driving license and access to a suitable vehicle for work purposes

Great Careers built with us The programme is a 2-year scheme where you will predominantly based within the Commercial department, however you will get to spend time within key areas of the business such as land and planning, technical, construction and sales to help your understanding of Bellway. An overview of the programme is as follows: * Successful candidates will attend a 3-day residential induction programme where you will be given the opportunity to learn more about the business, the 2 year programme and meet the other graduates. * You will spend time working within key areas of the business including construction, sales, commercial, technical, land and finance. * Over the course of the programme you will attend ‘skills camps’ and work on projects with your fellow graduates that provide ongoing development and support. You will be allocated a local buddy to help you settle into your role and a mentor to support your ongoing development. About you The quality of our developments, the standard of our customer service, the strength of our business strategy and the value we deliver for our stakeholders are all a result of the talented people who, together, make up Bellway. Because of this we are much more interested in what you could do, than what you have already done.
