Our client, is looking for a Junior Interior designer to join their team in the New year, based in their Newcastle practice.
What we look for
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a related field, or a very strong portfolio demonstrating relevant skills and passion.
- Some experience (internship, freelance, student projects or work placements) with design concepts, space planning, mood/ material boards, basic CAD/ drawing work.
- Proficiency (or willingness to learn quickly) in design software commonly used in interior architecture and design projects (e.g. AutoCAD, layout software, mood-board / presentation tools).
- A good eye for detail, sense of proportion, a passion for interiors, materials and finishes, and the ability to translate ideas into visuals or drawings.
- Excellent communication skills, to work collaboratively with senior designers, project team and clients, and to learn within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior designers/associates in concept generation, space planning, layout drawings, mood-boards, material selections, and sourcing elements (furnishings, finishes, fixtures).
- Assist in producing presentation materials, sketches, CAD drawings, and documentation under guidance.
- Participate in the early design stages of projects, helping to translate briefs into design concepts aligned with client needs and project goals.
- Contribute to research, materials, furnishings, FF&E (furniture, fixtures & equipment), trends, and sourcing suppliers.
