Job Description

Client: My client has established themselves as one of the UK s premier M&E contractors. Following their formation almost 75 years ago, they have grown their turnover to over £200m per annum. The business boasts an envious track record of delivering some of the UK s and London s landmark projects. Typically they specialise in major shell and core projects in sectors such as; commercial offices, healthcare, pharmaceutical and education. Despite their size, this Tier 1 M&E Contractor has fantastic staff retention rates with a reputation for looking after their staff. They offer excellent exposure and internal training schemes with a hands-on approach to developing their staff.

Role: Mechanical Construction Manager - Central London - £300 - £350 per day

Reporting to a Lead Project Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a £1-3M package within their own discipline. Projects are typically commercial office fit out, infrastructure upgrades, laboratories and schools. Key to this role is managing the project at site level; ensuring it is completed on time, to a high quality and within budget.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Design Review (scope gaps / clashes)
  • Short term programming.
  • Health & Safety (RAMS).
  • Technical Submissions.
  • Preparation/issuing all RFI.
  • Sub-contractor coordination.
  • Management of commissioning stages
  • Liaising with client team, main contractor and sub-contractors
  • Progress meetings with sub-contractors, professional teams and client

The ideal candidate:

  • Progressed from a tools background and have good technical knowledge of mechanical services.
  • Experience working in the commercial sector
  • Experience managing projects to a minimum of £2M within your own discipline
  • A minimum 5 years experience in a management role
  • Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Sir Robert McAlpine, Mace, Multiplex, Ballymore etc.
