Job Description

Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Euston, London NW1
Rate: £450 / Day PAYE
Contract: Contract Long-term utilities & enabling works

The Role

We are recruiting a Quality Assurance Technician to support a major utilities and infrastructure programme in central London. The role involves supporting multi-utility diversion and enabling works, including water mains, sewer, gas, and high-voltage cable packages. This is a critical stage of preparation for future large-scale development in the area.

Working in a busy, highly constrained urban environment, you will deliver robust quality assurance activities carrying out inspections, ensuring compliance with technical standards, supporting ITPs, and helping maintain a strong right-first-time culture across the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out regular site inspections in line with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), construction drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Monitor workmanship, materials, test results and construction activities across utilities and civils works.

  • Maintain accurate quality records including test certificates, as-built data, inspection sheets, NCRs and photographic evidence.

  • Support the development, review and updating of ITPs, checklists, NCRs and other quality documentation.

  • Report and close out non-conformances, assisting with corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support the preparation of handover documentation including commissioning records, assurance packs and O&M information.

  • Collaborate closely with engineers, supervisors and the wider delivery team to quickly resolve technical or quality issues.

  • Promote continuous improvement and contribute to lessons-learned and quality reviews.

Requirements
  • Experience in a QA / QC role within civils, utilities, water, or heavy infrastructure.

  • Strong understanding of quality assurance processes, ITPs, inspections and NCR management.

  • Excellent attention to detail and high-level record-keeping/document control abilities.

  • Comfortable using digital documentation systems (e.g., CDEs) and MS Office tools.

  • Ability to work effectively in a high-density, complex urban environment.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support engineering and site teams.

  • Proactive, organised and committed to a right-first-time approach.

  • Full UK driving licence preferred.

Why This Role
  • Opportunity to work on a large, technically challenging multi-utility programme in central London.

  • Long-term contract with involvement across several phases of diversion and enabling works.

  • Chance to influence quality systems and assurance processes on a complex project.

  • Be part of a high-performing team delivering critical infrastructure improvements.
