Job Description
As a Steel Fixer, you will play a key role in supporting ongoing construction and civil engineering projects. You'll be responsible for accurately positioning and securing steel bars and mesh used to reinforce concrete structures.
Key Responsibilities
Cutting, bending, and fixing steel bars and mesh to reinforcement structures
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and bar bending schedules
Tying rebar using hand tools or mechanical equipment
Assisting with concrete pours and formwork alignment
Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site standards
Working alongside shuttering joiners, concrete finishers, and groundworkers where necessary
Requirements
Essential:
Valid CSCS Card
Proven experience as a Steel Fixer
Ability to read and work from technical drawings
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in steel fixing or relevant trade
Two recent references from similar site-based work
