Job Description

Senior Engineer Euston

Salary: £45,000 £55,000

Overview

Seeking a Senior Engineer to support multiple civil engineering projects, lead site engineering activities, supervise junior engineers and ensure accurate setting out, quality control and safe delivery across a range of infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities Site Engineering
  • Establish survey control and hand over setting-out requirements to site engineers

  • Oversee detailed setting out and attend critical activities

  • Ensure health, safety and environmental records are maintained

  • Support Site Agents/Sub Agents with efficient work methods and resource planning

  • Deputise for Sub Agent/Site Agent when required

  • Lead material take-offs and support procurement planning

Quality Management
  • Carry out instrumental checks and maintain quality audit records

  • Identify areas requiring corrective action and report to site management

  • Lead the preparation of ITPs and Quality Management Plans for the region

  • Brief site teams on quality requirements

Resource & Team Management
  • Ensure adequate engineering resources are available

  • Support junior engineers development, performance reviews and training

  • Prepare method statements and deliver toolbox talks

  • Attend design and coordination meetings to support project teams

  • Participate in the recruitment of new site engineers

Information & Handover
  • Engage early at project award stage and attend pre-start meetings

  • Manage collection of accurate as-built information

  • Maintain project records and prepare handover documentation in advance of completion

About You Essential
  • Experience in setting out on civil engineering projects (highways, infrastructure, RC works)

  • Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

  • CSCS card

  • SMSTS

  • Confined Space training

  • Proficient with AutoCAD

  • Strong record keeping and reporting skills

  • Able to work independently and within a team

  • Strong communication skills with clients, site teams and operatives

  • Ability to challenge designs and resolve technical issues
