Design Manager

Design Manager - Freelance - Leeds area

Currently partnered with a key client who requires a Design Manager to work on an upcoming project.

This is a three-month position with the potential for extension, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of the design process and work closely with consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design process, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards

• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and integrate design solutions

• Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and documentation

• Monitor design risks, costs, and programme impacts, providing regular updates to senior management

• Facilitate design reviews, workshops, and coordination meetings

• Support procurement and tender processes as required

• Ensure smooth handover of design information to construction and operational teams

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Design Manager on large-scale projects

• Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent

• Strong knowledge of design standards, building regulations, and construction processes

• Excellent leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to work independently and deliver to tight deadlines
