We are seeking a Skilled Shop Fitter with SMSTS certification to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a project is completed safely and efficiently. You will essentially be the onsite project lead. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency in the workplace as well as great communication.
Duties
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to assemble components accurately.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery to fit parts together securely.
- Conduct quality checks on assembled products to ensure they meet required standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any fitting issues that may arise during the assembly process.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance productivity.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Skilled Shop Fitter holding SMSTS is essential.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics is essential.
- Familiarity with various hand tools and power tools used in fitting processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this position.
