A recognised shopfitting retail contractor based in the Southampton region has secured a number of food retail frameworks covering projects across the UK and Channel Islands. Due to the nature of these accounts, they have decided to take on an experienced Contracts Manager ideally with a proven track record in food retail sector with clients which include Tesco's, Coop's and One Stop's including industrial units, commercial fit outs and restaurants. Duties; Manage a large retail food account by firstly meeting the client and understanding their needs. Taking a project specification brief. Liaising with the estimator and design team back at their office. After securing the work, project managing the fit out stage and new build works for each project. Co-ordinate for materials on site. Placing sub-contractors orders. Collating relevant Health and Safety files. Costing minor projects to a clients specification. Managing a team working within the budget given on each individual project and project managing a number of projects running simultaneously in the food retail sector typically across the south of England and Channel Islands. With an excellent reputation for stability, growth and staff retention, my client is looking for a key individual who wants to make a name within this fast-track arena. Please note, this role offers a genuine chance to progress your career into a senior management level reporting directly to the board of director's. In return; You will receive a competitive salary package including generous car allowance, pension and discretionary bonus scheme. A "staying away" subsistence allowance will also be included. We are recruiting a Contracts Manager for our client in the Barnsley/Doncaster/Rotherham area. The company are a construction main contractor who offer a full construction service from inception to completion for Blue Chip clients within the Retail, Student Accommodation, Healthcare, Leisure, Industrial and Commercial Sectors. They work with clients such as Pure Gym, M&S, the NHS, John Lewis etc They work on refurbishments, interior fit outs and construction projects between 0.25 and 5 million in value. Projects can be nationwide so you must be willing to travel across the UK to visit schemes. We are looking for a Contracts Manager with experience of running interiors fit out projects of various sizes. You must have excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to manage a varied workload and work well in a fast paced and reactive environment. This is a key position in the business and requires an organised and proactive approach. You will need to work unsupervised and be effective in managing your own time and workloads. You will oversee the planning, co-ordination and control of all projects assigned to you from inception to the completion of all snagging and will control project timescales, costs and progress and keep the Senior Management Team informed of these. Main Tasks and Responsibilities: Monitor appropriate labour and site management specific to the project Control and analysis of labour costs alongside the QS Attend and contribute to client and contracts meetings Collate, manage and sign off snagging works completed by project support team Record variations from site and liaise with the QS team Responsible for site health and safety from pre-contract stage through to project completion Promote commercial awareness for on-site projects Liaise with supply chain team to ensure compliance and effective site set up. Ensure quality of workmanship in line company expectations Deliver projects to agreed program of works Monitor program of works and identify shortfalls and solutions Required skills and experience: 5+ years previous experience as a Contracts Manager working for main contractors Experience of the shopfitting and interior fit out sector Excellent time keeping and ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines A passion for delivering a professional service and quality product Ideal candidate will be friendly, proactive, have good organisational skills and have a high attention to detail Must have good IT skills - Microsoft skills including Excel and Project Professional qualification in project management desirable
