Senior Quantity Surveyor

My client, a civil engineering Tier 1 main contractor who operate in the civil engineering sector delivering high-value infrastructure schemes across the UK, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in York. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong name and excellent reputation in the civil engineering industry.

Your main duties will include:

• Reporting to the commercial manager, you will be responsible for working as part of the team delivering a 200m infrastructure project.
• Working alongside the operations and site delivery team to ensure project viability and cost effectiveness
• Monitor and report all project costs/finances
• Cash-flow forecasting
• Change management
• Sub-contractor, labour and materials management (placing orders, invoices, price negotiation etc)
• Be responsible for cost changes and monitoring throughout the life cycle of the project
• Final accounts

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Experience of working in a main-contracting environment with a civil engineering company
• Have worked on larger scale infrstructure schermes
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Be proficient with IT
