Paint Sprayer (intumescent)

4 x Intumescent Painters - Birmingham - BPSS CLEARANCE ESSENTIAL OR EQUIVALENT

Tec-source are seeking up to 4 experienced Intumescent Painters to carry out the application of fire protection coatings on structural steelwork at a live substation site. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring all coatings are applied to the required specifications, standards, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and clean steel surfaces in accordance with specification (e.g., blast cleaning, degreasing).
• Apply intumescent coatings to structural steel using airless spray equipment or rollers.
• Measure and record coating thickness (DFT readings) to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Maintain accurate site records and follow QA/QC procedures.
• Work safely within a substation environment, adhering to all site safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and QA inspectors for inspections and sign-offs.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience in intumescent coating application on industrial or power infrastructure projects.
• Valid CSCS card (Blue or above preferred).
• BPSS CLEARANCE ESSENTIAL OR EQUIVALENT
• Experience working on substations or similar live-site environments (desirable).
• Full understanding of safe working practices and ability to work to method statements and risk assessments.
• Own PPE and basic tools/spray equipment (if required).
